Education should encourage individuals to embrace knowledge and wonder, rather than doing just the opposite, by pushing rote memorization and standardized testing.

Have you ever worked on a problem (any sort of problem) for what seemed like an eternity, only to finally arrive at not just a solution, but understanding? It is a powerful feeling, one that everyone, especially children in school, should be able to experience.

We need teachers who are passionate about their subject, whose eyes light up and whose voices catch when speaking about the material they love so dearly. We need this so much more than professors ‘forced’ to teach in addition to their research positions.

The Universe desperately needs people who are awake and interested in helping others to come alive.
